STIFF Little Fingers' legend Jake Burns revealed he can't wait to play Barrowland on St Patrick's Night.
It was the Glasgow venue's amazing crowd who helped convince him to carry on after he reformed the band nearly 20 years ago.
SLF will notch up a record breaking 15 years in a row when they headline the Barras on March 17.
They've got that date booked for every future year until they finally call it a day.
Jake told me: "When we reformed we had no idea if anybody was going to buy tickets to see us.
"We played Barrowland for the first time in December, 1987.
"The only reason we did the gig was because Christmas was coming up and we were skint."
SLF went down a storm at Barrowland and convinced Jake to carry on.
Now the band - whose classic hits include Suspect Device and Alternative Ulster - are recording a new studio album. They'll try out new material on March 17.
Jake said: "I'm being absolutely genuine when I say Barrowland is my favouritegig in the whole world.
"The crowd have been right behind us from day one.
"There's a huge amount of affection there. You can't help being lifted by it.
"When we did the third St Patrick's night gig there our promoter said, 'I've booked Barrowland right through to 2000'.
"We just laughed. Yet, here we are six years past that date."
What's the difference between the SLF who played that first St Patrick's Night gig and the 2006 version?
"Bigger beer guts," joked Jake.
"We play much better now. It's more fun going on the road with your buddies. I've got to keep reminding myself I'm working.
"I've always been keen on moving us forward musically instead of relying on past glories."
