Conceived in the halcyon hothouse Orphanage of '67, proto alt. Country combo Strangely Strange essayed an eclectic ragbag of styles, often leavened with humour, flirting with free-form jazz ('nostril' variations) and 'serious' music ('Sparky bought it in the latrines'), they nonetheless remained faithful to their roots throughout a short, brilliant, career.
