Supermodel Kate Moss could top the charts over the festive season if the public take to her efforts in the recording studio. The beauty is to duet with The Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan for a new recording of classic Christmas song Fairytale In New York.
The collaboration is to raise money for Justice for Kirsty, in honour of Kirsty MacColl who sang on the original track. The singer’s mother, Jean has been campaigning for an inquiry into her death ever since she was killed by a speedboat while swimming in Mexico five years ago.
Meanwhile Kate is now busier than ever after leaving rehab a few weeks ago. She has already posed for designer Roberto Cavalli, while cosmetics company Rimmel has released a new publicity shot of her for the season. Burberry’s creative director Christopher Bailey said the label was preparing to use the model again, calling her “absolutely part of our family”.
