Sinead O'Connor, on May 23rd 2005, will be releasing Collaborations, which boasts 17 tracks of her singing with some of the industry's finest. Beautiful Day will cover I Am Stretched On Your Grave for 1990.
Sinead, who retired two years ago, said in an interview with Hot Press that she is signing a management and record deal with Sanctuary Records
I want to at least aim my records at a more spiritualised market, not religious records strictly speaking, but in the spirit of roots/gospel/chant.

The Cranberries are on a two year sabbatical. In the meantime Noel Hogan has formed the Mono Band. The music sounds fresh and different, too, from the subtle electronic touches and inventive programming to the wide and varied range of singers. Among those heard on the Mono Band album are the Swedish singer Alexandra Hamnede, Kate Havnevik and Angie Heart. There are male voices, too, including Richard Walters, Nicholas Leroux and Fin Chambers from Irish band Woodstar.

The Saw Doctors are on tour in the USA. Details available from their official website. Their famous track N17 is covered in Beautiful Day for 1993.
Davy Carton and Leo Moran are the two founder members and main songwriters in the Saw Doctors. Joining the Saw Doctors for the USA tour in the USA are two new band members, Anthony Thistlethwaite on Bass and Fran Breen on Drums. Anthony Thistlethwaite is a founder member of The Waterboys and previously guested on various Saw Doctors albums throughout the nineties. Fran Breen has previously worked with Lucinda Williams, Nanci Griffiths and The Waterboys. Completing the lineup is Derek Murray who plays all sorts of keyboards, accordion and guitar.
